Educational Learning Objectives
The following educational learning objectives are derived from the department goals. Learning objectives applied only to the General Option or the Technology Option are specified. All other objectives are applied to both options.

A. Demonstrate knowledge in the basic mathematical and scientific principles underlying computing and the ability to apply fundamental mathematics in applications in computing.

B. Show an understanding of the fundamentals of computer architecture and operating systems.

C. Demonstrate proficiency in at least one computer programming language through the design, development, and testing of software projects to accomplish a specified set of task(s).

D. Demonstrate the ability to function both independently and on a team project.

E. Show the ability to identify, formulate, and implement computing solutions for problems.

F. Possess an understanding of professional and ethical responsibility to include an understanding of the societal impact and worth of computer science solutions.

G. Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally.

H. Recognize the need for and be able to engage in life-long learning.

I. (General Option only) Demonstrate knowledge of contemporary concepts and issues in the field of computer science.

J. Demonstrate the ability to use the techniques, skills, and modern development tools necessary for practice as a computer science professional.

K. (Technology Option only) Demonstrate the ability to identify, analyze and solve technical problems.
